Rosie-Dee's Challenge #52

This months theme of SHAPES continues with a recipe. So, we'd like to see 2 squares and a rectangle on your project this week please.

My card will be saved for my Brother-in-Laws birthday in November.

I used Stampin' Up cardstock in calendula which when scored on an A4 fold gives a shortfall card. The front edge was trimmed using a scalloped cutter and then inked with Cosmic Copper Brilliance inkpad.

The backing paper in a gold and cream criss cross design is from a Crafter's Companion pack, with a strip of the same being put just inside the card. It reminded me a football goal net.

The sentiment is a free download from My Craft Studio and the toppers from Teddies Friends cd by Peerless Designs.

A very apt card I think for a footie fan, Wolves in this case, which came together very quickly and easily.

My Canvas

This is my canvas prepared in the same way as Faith's with a pale green base coat. It measures about 7x9.5 inches.

I'm quite pleased with it for a first try but, ever critical of myself, I feel the Paisley designs could be angled better and the flowers spaced differently at the bottom. I know now I should have used acetate instead of card for the stencils so that I could see better where they were being placed.

I made the stencil using Paisley images from the computer and painted them with Brilliance ink. They were decorated them with swirls and spots using Stampin' Up marker pens, although they don't show up too well in the picture.

Seed beads were stitched all around the outline of the design between the small dots.

Thank goodness for the flexibility of beading needles but it does help to try and thread the right end no matter how miniscule the hole!!

I used a Cuttlebug die to make myself a small flower/leaf stencil and used pink and green Brilliance inks.

The flowers here are Primas with a small brad in the centre.These flowers are fabric ones from W H Smith. They have been trimmed a little at the back so that they sit flatter on the canvas and attached with Pin Flair glue.

The ribbon round the edge is from Hobbycraft.In reality the painted images are all slightly shimmery due to the inks used. I'm not sure what I am going to do with mine, probably hang it in my craft room once we have decorated as the colours are what I would want in there.

Spring Flowers.

2 cards here using the same Sarah Kay stamp. They have been coloured with a combination of Stampin' Up markers and watercolour pencils. The backing card mounts for both is from DCWV. The stamped greeting is from Personal Impressions. This first one has the greeting embossed in pale blue which shows better IRL. It has 2 layers of flowers and some spotty white organza ribbon held together with a brad.

This has the greeting embossed in purple and is decorated with flowers and brads. It also features an oval cut with my very first set of Nestabilities.

Easter Hens?

The birds on these cards look a little bit too large to be Easter chicks but the colouring on the images from Personal Impressions certainly fits in with the theme of 'Citrus Colours' over on Cute Card Thursday challenge this week.

I chickened out a bit (pardon the pun) with the colours on the first one but went all out with the second, giving her lime green dungarees.

Both images have been coloured with Stampin' Up marker pens and watercolour pencils. The papers are from HOTP Citrus pad and the sentiment plaques from Making Cards magazine. The stripy ribbon is Anita's and the circles one from Hobbycraft.

Couple of cards at last.

This cute little lady has been stamped versafine Sepia ink and coloured using Stampin' Up marker pens and layered onto their card which matches beautifully. The butterfly punch is from X Cuts. Both stamps are from a set of clear stamps by Personal Impressions. The base card is white hammered c/s with a layer of pearlescent paper. This card also uses a stamp from Personal Impressions and is again inked and coloured using Versafine and Stampin' Up products. The '5' is from an unmounted set i've had for ages. The layering papers are from Dovecraft. The ribbon is from Anita's.
